THIS WEEK we celebrate 25 years since our family came to Indianapolis to help provide the needs, both physical and spiritual, of the Jewish Hoosier Community. Need a kosher meal, a mezuza, a Shabbos meal, or just good old fashioned warm Yiddishkeit. We’re here for that and more. We were brought here to be part of the local Chabad Team and continue to do the holy work through the IJDC (Indianapolis Jewish Discovery Center).First we were 1 k”ah …and then there were a few more k”ah …

IJDC -FUEL THE FUTURE! CELEBRATING 25 YEARS!
For 25 years, we have been a home of Jewish pride, joy, learning, community, and support for the entire Greater Indianapolis area. Inspired by the teachings of the Rebbe of Chabad Lubavitch, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, we arrived in Indianapolis on January 10, 2001 as Chabad emmisaries to strengthen the teachings of Judaism flavored with Chassidism. In 2017 we opened the Indiana Jewish Discovery Center. The Lubavitcher Rebbe has entrusted us to strengthen Judaism and prepare the world for the coming of Moshiach.
Now, as we celebrate this milestone, we are launching our annual 36-hour crowdfunding campaign — with the ambitious goal of raising $150,000 in just two days. In the 36 hours, from Tuesday January 13, 9AM –Wednesday January 14, 9PM, help the Indiana Jewish Discovery Center (IJDC) FUEL THE FUTURE & raise $150,000.

As we reflect on the transformative moments of the past year, we’re excited to embark on a journey toward an even brighter future. This Fundraiser, which is our ONLY fundraiser during the year, is not just a call to support; it’s an invitation to forge a partnership in creating a brighter future together.
Since the tragic events in Israel on October 7th, Jewish families and individuals throughout our community are looking for meaning; For an opportunity to develop their relationship to G-d; For a stronger connection to Israel and the Jewish people.
Now is a unique time to gather together in Unity to strengthen every aspect of Judaism for the Jewish community in Central Indiana.
How does a Matching Campaign work?
Running an operation like the Indiana Jewish Discovery Center (IJDC), requires a major investment of time, energy, and capital. While we work tirelessly to ensure that no Jew is left behind, the day-to-day expenses of operating our activities can be daunting. Rather than charging membership fees or exorbitant event prices, which could alienate some people, we rely on the generosity of the community that we serve.
To that end, a few generous donors have come forward once again to help us thrive this year and FUEL THE FUTURE. Together they have pledged to double every dollar donated to our center up to $150,000. For the 36 hours of the Campaign on January 13-14, your dollar will have DOUBLE THE IMPACT!

Our Mission and Impact:
At the Indiana Jewish Discovery Center (IJDC), our mission is to foster a sense of unity, spirituality, and learning within our community. Throughout the year, we’ve been dedicated to providing enriching programs, educational initiatives, and meaningful events that resonate with individuals from all walks of life. Your generous contributions have been instrumental in our ability to make a positive impact, and now, as 2026 begins, we invite you to partner with us in propelling our mission forward.
We feel fortunate to continue to serve our communities with expanded programming, including:
- A wider menu of classes, including Bar Mitzvah lessons
- More programming in Fishers, Indiana
- More Senior programming, and
- More kosher options in Indy and Much more
In the past year the IJDC has provided in-person and virtual programming, food distribution, and events, such as:
· Shabbat: “Taste of Shabbat” bags offer a homemade touch to all who want traditional food made with love as well as private and public Community Shabbat meals
· Holidays: Passover packages, Shavuot Ten Commandments events, Taste of Rosh Hashanah To-Go packages, and Rosh Hashanah shofar blowings, etc. This year, Chanukah celebrations included Chanukah parties and menorah lightings for young and old including for the Fishers community and the Israeli and broader Jewish community.
·Classes: Both in-person and online.
·Traveling Hebrew School open for in-person learning as well as online, to accommodate everyone at their comfort level.
·Programming for Jewish Seniors, including the seniors at Hooverwood and Gardens of Greenbriar
